$996 a Week for 10 Years

That’s what it would take to make you a millionaire.

How to become a millionaire in 10 years

Simply one method, and there are many. It certainly put the finances in perspective for me! $1000 a week would certainly not be something to scoff at. 52 weeks in a year, that means $52,000 a year salary. A lot of people can make that much. But could they save that much, that’s another set of salaries all together.

You might also enjoy this calculator, that can calculate the number of years until you make a million, based on your current income and interest. Cool Million

Now in order to save $1,000 a week, it only makes sense to generate that income from additional businesses. Other streams of income. And the internet has all the tools necessary to achieve that lofty ideal of $1000 a week.

Have you thought about other streams of income you can begin right now?

The story thus far…

World now has 10 million millionaires

Tagged Under : , , ,

Add an extra zero to the ranks of the millionaires club.

The number of people around the world with at least $1 million in assets passed 10 million for the first time last year, according to a new report. And their bank accounts are growing even faster.

The combined wealth of the globe’s millionaires grew to nearly $41 trillion last year, an increase of 9 percent from a year before, Merrill Lynch & Co. and consulting firm Capgemini Group said Tuesday.

That means their average wealth was more than $4 million, the highest it’s ever been. Home values were not included in asset totals.

“The growth of their wealth is outpacing the growth of their population, and that’s a trend that’s going to continue in coming years,” said Ileana Van Der Linde, a principal with Capgemini.

Not an Employee

Long ago, we brought you all this fire.

Do not imagine we are still chained to that rock.

Now we are everywhere, and independent.

But not alone.

We do not work for you. You do not work for us.

We choose to work together.

We create, and advise, and design, and invent.

Inspire, build, teach.

Repair, research, heal.

We have craft, insight and experience.

We see. We make. With style and grace.

We move along.

We are diverse.

We are labor, but we are also capital.

Not a single class.

We are a web, the thread by which all else is linked together.

We’ve escaped.

Escaped the office, the factory, the regimen, the rat race, the vultures and that goddamned rock.

And all the more, we collaborate.

Independent, but never alone.

The Million Dollar Experiment

Tagged Under : , , ,

The idea of this experiment is to explore the use of conscious, focused intention. So anyone who has consciously decided to participate in holding the same intention is automatically part of the experiment. Remember that according to this model, every thought is an intention. So our goal will be to keep our thoughts consciously focused on manifesting what we want while trying to minimize incongruent thoughts (such as, “it won’t work”).

Here’s the new intention for each person who wishes to participate in the revised Million Dollar Experiment:

In an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, in its own perfect time, for the highest good of all, I intend $1,000,000 to come into my life and into the lives of everyone who holds this intention.

Living a Lifestyle of Intention is the Key to Feeling Good

Tagged Under : , ,

Lifestyle is the way we live our life, and it is our habits, behaviors and practices. It also reflects the way we perceive the world, and how we get along with one another. Intentions are the thoughts and feelings we have with all of our actions. Lifestyle and Intention blend together naturally as we become aware of the thoughts and feelings we have, because they affect our life in a powerful way.

When you enjoy doing something, it becomes easier as the feelings put more energy, or intention into your actions. Likewise, having a passion for life makes it easier to enjoy everything that is a part of your lifestyle.

Part of living a lifestyle of intention is knowing what you want. You may know how to get these things, or you may not. The best way to feel good is to intend to feel good. To live the lifestyle of feeling good.

Which means you must know where you are going. Make a plan, and once you have a plan, stick to it. Your determination to stay with your original intentions will see you through. And by letting your intentions be known to every part of your lifestyle, you increase your chances of success.

I had an experience today that made me feel great. I was in a different part of town today, going to a job interview. As I walked out from the dark, stuffy metro and into the cheerful beaming sunlight I noticed a Ferrari dealer. I have an intention to own a car, learn to drive and eventually, to own my dream car. So I had not found a car yet that really sparked my interest. A car that turned the ignition and made my motor of intention purr. I walked onto the lot and began circling the cars, looking at the interiors and the sleek profiles of each one. I walked inside and noticed beside these beautiful red Ferrari’s there were these other elegant cars. They share a lot in common with the Ferrari. The car is called a Maserati. When I saw it, I knew I had to drive this car. The Maserati is really creative, and it is an Italian car. It has a style that really stands out from the other cars. Like, the cars profile is that of a Ferrari, but the front grill is like a Jaguar.

Maserati Grand Turismo

Maserati’s tagline, “Excellence through Passion.” really illustrates living a lifestyle of intention.

The car I am most interested in is the black Maserati GranTurismo, with a red leather interior as pictured above. Purchasing it that day certainly was not an option, as they cost as much as a decent house. I could see myself in the drivers seat, on a winding mountain road, zipping around the curves. I now had found my dream car, and knew that it would come to me only as a reward to my success.

Your intentions can bring you the best of any situation. Intentions are guided by the way you feel. And when you feel at your best, you are in the best state to achieve your ambition.

Living a Lifestyle of Intention has helped me in many ways. With the power of my intentions, I quit smoking. The reason I succeded is that I changed my lifestyle to match my intentions. I got a new job and moved to an apartment downtown. Creating a new environment and learning new experiences will help you grow. Exercise your intentions, and like a muscle they will get stronger.

Cashflow: There are many ways to get out of the Rat Race

Tagged Under : ,

Yesterday evening, I was introduced to Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow. I joined a group called Montreal Cashflow which I had found on meetup.com. Meetup is a wonderful networking site, so make sure you look to find out what is in your area. It was my first time playing the game, and I was very excited to play.

Cashflow

The game teaches basic principles about personal finance while you circle the board. There is an inner Rat Race circle that has deals both big and small. On the outside is the Fast Track, where the fortunes are made. Each player has a balance sheet that has four sections, income, expenses, assets and liabilities. The game succeeds in teaching the financial intelligence that Kiyosaki first wrote about in Rich Dad, Poor Dad which is the first finance book I laid my eyes on. I suggest this book to anyone and everyone who has ever wondered if there is a better way to plan their finances.

One of the skills that the game teaches is how to write a balance sheet. Cashflow makes it easy to learn financial skills. It shows a different approach to how you handle monthly finances, and you become more confident making financial decisions. When I searched for the game online, I found a copy of the game sheet to use at home.

Cashflow 101 Game Sheet (excel spreadsheet)

For my first game, I think I did quite well. I bought a house with no-money down, and then sold it the next turn for 60,000$ in profit. Two of the players made it out of the rat race by making the right deals at the right time. I know that with a few more rounds I would of made it out of the rat race and onto the fast track.

I met many wonderful people, realtors, consultants and small business owners. We all had similar interests, and there was a time to share and network. The game really allows you to realize when opportunities present themselves. After, you become aware of new ways to generate a passive income.

Cashflow proved to me that anyone can get out of the rat race, and have a lot of fun doing so.

Do actions speak louder than our words?

Tagged Under : , ,

Actions are necessary to achieve your goal. As starting the action is the way to get closer to your goal. Before you take action, think, does this action bring me closer to my goal or further away? You must take actions to achieve your goal.

Well how about words? As actions communicate our thoughts and feelings, so do words. When we match our actions and our words, we can truly start communicating.

So if both words and actions are necessary to achieve our goal, what can we measure success with? The answer is simple, RESULTS. With results we know when we have made progress. The best actions make results.

Before I wrote this post, a very inspiring video came my way. In the video, Barack Obama speaks out in response to Hillary’s claim that his campaign is just “hopeful words”. The way that he speaks is powerful; his voice is loud, clear and packed with feeling. He has the ability to get in touch with the thoughts and feelings of his audience, and to really connect with them on a personal level.

I have to admit, I am really excited about this blog and this website. The decision has been made, and here I am in a brand new frontier. But this could only happen after I thought of the idea, and brought it to life. So how did I come up with the idea to make one million dollars?

Well, let’s start off with some basic information. My name is Ed Kennedy. I am 24 years old, and I live in Montreal, QC.

The inspiration for this journey and website is with one of the most influential presidents of our time. President John F. Kennedy. His name is written in the streets of Montreal, his face is carved in brass on President Kennedy St, downtown. His name is also honoured in the Kennedy Space centre, in Florida, which I drove past when I visited in January. But I will get to that trip after. The part I want to focus on is this. JFK has many accomplishments of great merit. The accomplishment that directly inspired to take action is his will to put a man on the moon. The Apollo missions proved Kennedy to be a man of decision, faith and perseverance. He brought a nation of people comes together, as a purpose formed by his decision, his will.

JFK and Jackie
  • I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish.

So this is my inspiration. I know that what I have ahead of me is the most impressive goal I can accomplish, and it is a very important goal. I also know that it will be the most  rewarding journey that I have embarked upon. Let’s hope it isn’t the most difficult.

A journey of a million miles starts with one step.

One step…

or one giant leap !

PS: Thank you to those who wrote me messages of congratulations, concern, and belief. You inspire me to be the person I am today.
